An Important Announcement

To our dear Guests, Friends and Supporters,

We have loved celebrating the Chelsea Community Christmas Lunch with you over the past 9 years. It has been a privilege being part of your Christmas Family. Together we have created many wonderful memories.

Sadly, due to circumstances beyond our control, we will not be able to hold our annual Christmas Lunch in 2025, bringing The Chelsea Community Christmas Lunch as we know it to an end.

Unfortunately, in today’s environment public liability, insurance costs, and safety precautions all need to be met. As a volunteer organisation we can no longer sustain how we have been operating and are not in a position to manage the aforementioned risks. We are exploring options for future years.

We know this news brings sadness to us all, and we share in that feeling.

We thank you for being part of our Christmas celebrations over so many years, and we wish you all the best.

Much love

The Chelsea Community Christmas Lunch Team

Welcome to The Chelsea Community Christmas Lunch

The mission of The Chelsea Community Christmas Lunch - to build a community, where people on their own or in financial hardship can belong to, and come together to celebrate a meal on Christmas Day.

About Us

The Chelsea Community Christmas Lunch started in 2016 when two local children (5yr and 6 yr old) asked if they could feed the homeless on Christmas Day.

Local families and businesses, St Joseph’s Parish and Primary School, St Vincent de Paul, Chelsea’s Uniting Church and Chelsea Community Church of Christ came together to make this event happen.

We celebrate Christmas Lunch with people experiencing hardship and loneliness. We have around 40 volunteers on the day and and many more in the lead up working together to ensure that our guests have more than just a meal. We celebrate as a community and try to ensure that ech one our guests feel the hope, love and joy of Christmas.
